General Terms and Conditions for the IAH 2024 World Groundwater Congress

Payment Type

The following payment types are available:

  • Registration fee and associated fees (gala dinner, transfer, workshops): credit card or bank transfer.
  • Fees paid at the registration desk onsite in Davos: credit card only

Note for bank transfers: the payment should be received by the appropriate deadline (i.e. by 1 June for the early registration deadline), and bank charges are the responsibility of the payer and should be paid in addition to the registration/event booking fees. The option of payment by bank transfer will only be active until 15 August 2024.

Cancellation

  • Written requests for cancellation must be sent to info@iah2024davos.org.
  • For cancellations received by 15 July 2024, a refund will be issued minus a CHF150 processing fee. There will be no refund for cancellation requests received after 15 July 2024.
  • There is no reason (including but not limited to illness) for registration cancellation that makes the above-mentioned deadline for cancellations inapplicable.

General conditions of attendance

  • Registration must be accompanied by payment. Otherwise, no access is granted.
  • Registrations are for the person acquiring the registration and paying the registration fee; registrations are non-transferable.
  • Early registration must be accompanied by payment within the deadline. Otherwise, it will not be processed and the standard registration rates will be applied.
  • Participants benefitting from a lower registration rate (IAH members, Students) have to provide verification documents.

Pandemics, hazards, and force majeure

  • Any person who attends the conference is obliged to follow any official regulations regarding health and hygiene that are valid during the conference runtime. Such regulations are considered official and mandatory if publicly announced by the federal government of Switzerland, the canton of Grisons, the city of Davos, or the Davos Congress Center as the hosting venue.
  • The obligation to follow official health and hygiene regulations is not only applied to COVID-19, but to any other pandemic or epidemic that might occur in the future.
  • Hazards that make it impossible to run the IAH2024 World Groundwater Congress at the Davos Congress Center grant the organizers the right to cancel the event, transform it into a virtual event and switch the registration fees from on-site to virtual event fees. In such cases, on-site attendees will either be offered a virtual attendance and get the difference between paid fees and virtual attendance fees reimbursed, or, if no virtual equivalent takes place, the full registration fee is reimbursed. The organizers, however, will not be liable for other costs the attendee might have had (e.g., travel, accommodation).

Insurance

  • The organizers cannot accept liability for personal accident, loss, or damage to property, which may be incurred as a result of the participation in the IAH2024 World Groundwater Congress. Participants are, therefore, advised to arrange appropriate insurance coverage. This should apply not only to travel but also to cancellation costs.
  • To protect the health of our delegates attending the conference in Davos, the organizer will take all necessary safety measures and procedures. However, it is the responsibility of each individual delegate to have their own medical coverage and liability insurance.

Disclaimer

By registering, participants acknowledge and consent that if some of the event is held online their contributions may be recorded by an official of the conference. This content may be distributed or published at the discretion of the IAH and the organizers. Some events may also be recorded for a summary presentation during the congress closing event. If you do not wish to be recorded, you are required to formally advise the congress secretary in advance.

Recording and screenshots

It is prohibited to take photos or videos of scientific material shown in any in-presence presentations and to take screenshots or record live presentations unless the presenter authorizes it. Presenters are encouraged to inform the audience if they welcome screenshots or sharing on social media.
